  1. Hey Justin,

I just checked out your site. Nice job! Before I got into private practice I was the Director of Professional services for Cohen’s. I left there in 1987. I worked with Allan mostly and Bob on occasion. Our corporate offices were on Vleigh Pl in Queens back then.
My office was on 52nd and Madison and I just moved after all these years to 34th and Madison. Anyway, good luck.

  2. You describe visual changes in migraine headaches. Ophthalmic migraine occurs in the retinal vesels not the occipital lobe, and may be accompanied by vizualisation of vasosapsm in the retina, presumably evene without headaches, and unilaterally.

  3. Dr. Bazan,

I live on Long Island, near queens. I was a user of OTC eye drops (visine) for 6 years, using them 3-4 times a day. I used the drops because they helped with the redness due to extended wear of contacts. After learning that they were dangerous with extended use, I quit. This left my eyes extremely red (especially in the morning). I haven’t used OTC drops in about 9 months. The process has been slow but they have become less red with time. They are now at there best (10/16/07). They still are very red every morning and tend to get better 3-4 hours after waking, but still never 100%. I am willing to make an appointment to see you for any medications, treatments or advice you can give me. Is they anything you can tell me via email that can help me out (I am extremely frustrated)? I will highly appreciate any advice or info you can give me. Your article on eye redness has been VERY helpful! You give me hope! Thank you very much. William B.

  4. Dr. Bazan,
I was trying to read one of the articles you suggested about Computer Vision Syndrome, but it was password protected. Can you send me the password or open it to general viewing? Thank you! I was very pleased with the eye exam I had with you last week – if only all doctors would educate their patients, we’d a;; be better off. In 16 years of wearing glasses or contacts, I never knew what half the test were for – not to mention how big my role was in the health of my eyes. I appreciate the time you take to do this and I’ve been recommending you to my friends all week!

  5. Hey Dr. Bazen! I found your website/blog from your posts on ODWIRE.com. We have a lot in common! I am also a SUNY grad (2000), and fellow blogger (“the EYE POD”):

I was in solo private practice for 7.5 years before having to close. I now work in a large private OD-only practice in the greater Houston metroplex.

Anyway I love your blog! I subscribed and will likely send occasional links from my own blog if thats okay. Keep up the good work!

  6. Hey Dr. Bazan, my name is Bao, and I’m the one that made that Red Eye video. I took a look at your webpage and I must admit, I am very much impressed. Not only at the quality of the design, but also at the responses that you get from your patients and all of your educational posts. I think that it is great. I am a 4th year optometry student at UHCO and you are the type of optometrist that i aspire to be. I will be graduating pretty soon and I was wondering if I could ask you for advice if i have questions in the future.

ps, what state are you in??

    Thanks,
    Bao

  7. After being spoiled by Dr. Bazan’s impeccable care and sound advice for all these years, my eyes refuse to settle for second best (can you blame them?!).
So not finding the doc. at his old address, this is an attempt to track him down!
    Where are you Justin?
    Hope to hear from you.

    Isaac.

  8. Thank you soo much! Justin gave me the most complete exam! I live in Manhattan and will go to Brooklyn for my eye care always

    Dr. Jay

  9. Hi Dr. Bazan,
I am a pre-optometry student and I am actually writing a paper right now about eye exams. I found your website through googling photos of eye exams. Anyway, I am applying to Optometry school in the fall and was curious if you have any advice on interviews or if you can tell me what grad school is like? Thanks!
